Stephen M. Minton, MD 

 

Dr. Minton is an MDVIP-affiliated primary care physician, which means all patients in his practice receive individualized care focused on prevention and wellness. The core of this personalized healthcare approach is an annual, comprehensive wellness program comprised of advanced screenings and tests that help Dr. Minton create a customized plan of care for his patients based on their needs and goals. Dr. Minton was born in Mineral Wells, TX and raised in Fairfax County.  He graduated from Langley High School and received his undergraduate degree as a Chemistry major at the University of Virginia in 1983.  After working in a Charlottesville, VA psychiatric hospital for one year, he entered the University of Virginia School of Medicine and graduated in 1988.  Dr. Minton completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency at the University of California, Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, CA in 1991 and worked as a staff physician for Kaiser Permanente before moving back home to Northern Virginia the following year. 

In his free time, Dr. Minton volunteers as a pilot transporting medical patients to distant cities for treatments they cannot get near their home towns.  Dr. Minton lives with his wife and their dog, Roxie, in Alexandria. His daughter, Emily, lives in nearby Shirlington.
